The nurse behind The Root Cause RN
=Hi, I’m Elizabeth, BSN-RN — founder of The Root Cause RN and a registered nurse with 16 years of experience in emergency medicine.
My work has always been rooted in helping people through critical moments. But over time, I became just as passionate about something else — the space before crisis.
The space where women feel off… but can’t explain why.
Where labs come back “normal”… but you don’t feel normal.
My Story
In late 2019, I started getting sick.
What began as subtle symptoms quickly became impossible to ignore — stomach pain after eating, hair loss, rashes, joint pain, rapid weight loss, and overwhelming exhaustion.
I went through labs, imaging, and specialist visits.
Each time, I was told everything looked normal.
As a nurse, I knew how to ask the right questions. And still, I struggled to find answers.
Not because care wasn’t important — but because there often isn’t enough time or space to fully connect the dots when symptoms are complex.
So I did what nurses do.
I started tracking everything.
Every symptom. Every pattern. Every detail.
Over time, I built a care team that looked at the full picture — combining both conventional and broader approaches. And slowly, I began to heal.
But what stayed with me most was this:
If it was this hard for me — with my medical background-how many other women were experiencing the same thing?
Why I Created This
I created The Root Cause RN to give women the starting point I wish I had.
A way to organize your symptoms, recognize patterns, and better understand what your body is telling you — so you can walk into your appointments informed, prepared, and confident.
Because when your experience is clearly documented, your voice becomes harder to dismiss.

Final Note
I believe both conventional medicine and holistic approaches have value. My goal is to help bridge the gap — giving you tools to better understand your body and make informed decisions alongside your healthcare provider.
You deserve clarity. You deserve support. And you deserve to feel like yourself again.
